Kunka Wins PNWPGA Senior Players Championship

PGA Professional Lionel Kunka of Canyon Lakes Golf Course captured the 2026 PNWPGA Senior Players Championship on April 15 at Wine Valley Golf Club, winning by one stroke over PGA Professional Chad Fribley of Persimmon Country Club.

Kunka prevailed over a strong field of 111 senior PGA Professionals and amateurs from across the Pacific Northwest, navigating challenging conditions that included 20-mile-per-hour winds.

Low amateur honors went to Mike Swingle of Aldarra Golf Club, who finished tied for third overall.

The Senior Players’ Championship is a 36-hole stroke play event featuring both professional and amateur divisions, with gross and net competitions for amateurs.

The Pacific Northwest Section PGA extends its thanks to Jim Pliska, Tyler Sweet, Tyler Daniels, and their outstanding team at Wine Valley Golf Club for their hospitality and support in hosting the Championship.
