Past Champions/Al C. Giusti Memorial
Wife Jeanette and son Larry developed the Al C. Giusti Memorial in 1981 as a tribute to a man with a life long history of giving back to the game. Al C. Giusti was a successful Portland wine merchant, sportsman and philanthropist. During his lifetime he supported cancer research, funded college scholarships and sponsored civic, parish, and athletic events. Over the years, the Al C. Giusti Memorial raised over $500,000 for local charities. Pacific Northwest Section Hall of Famer George Lanning beat Bob Duden by one stroke to win the inaugural Giusti at Columbia Edgewater CC. In 1991, Larry Giusti’s desire to be the best prompted the move to the popular format called the "Clambake" - a professional and his amateur partner playing net four-ball and an individual professional competition.
