Wescott Wins First PNW PGA Major at 39th Rosauers Open Invitational

The 2026 Rosauers Open Invitational and Franz Pro-Am delivered an unforgettable week of championship golf at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane, Washington.
Tournament week began with the Franz Pro-Am on July 15–16, where 62 teams competed in one of the Pacific Northwest PGA Section's premier charity events. The Dr. Pepper team was crowned the winner, led by Indian Canyon's own Dawson Strobel and amateurs Fred Horn, Tami Rigsbee, Madison Meyer, and Jeff Hardy. The low professional score belonged to recent Oregon Open champion Daniel Campbell, who fired an impressive 11-under-par 60.
The spotlight then shifted to the 39th Rosauers Open Invitational, held July 17–19. A deep field of 168 PGA Professionals and amateurs battled for the title. It was a real shootout, with many players in contention entering the final round before PGA Professional Hunter Wescott of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club came out on top.
Wescott carded rounds of 67, 66 and a bogey-free 63 to finish at 17-under-par 196, earning his first Pacific Northwest PGA Section major championship and a one-shot victory.
The low amateur honors were shared by 2024 Rosauers Open champion Andrew Von Lossow and PGA Professional Connor Robbins, who tied for second at 16-under par, just one stroke behind Wescott.
When asked how he stayed composed during the closing stretch, Wescott said, "I had a lot of faith in my ability to not just roll it tight but try and make it."
That self-assurance was the product of recent preparations for the tournament. "My dad and I were looking at my putting stroke no more than a week ago,” he said. “He helped make some changes and helped build my confidence leading up to the event."
For Wescott, the victory was personal.
"The biggest thing for me was proving to myself that I can compete at a very high level against incredibly talented players from around the Northwest."
After securing the biggest victory of his Pacific Northwest PGA career, Wescott immediately shared the moment with those who helped make it possible.
"I called my fiancé. She was extremely proud of me and couldn't wait for me to get back home. She has been incredible, making sure I have extra time after work to practice or play. She supports me when it's going great or poorly and pushes me to be the best version of myself on and off the course."
Wescott also credited longtime coach and mentor Brian Thornton, who played alongside him during the opening two rounds. "Brian helped me in becoming the golfer and pro I am today."
Looking ahead, Wescott hopes to carry his momentum into the Northwest Open Invitational as he pursues a second Pacific Northwest PGA major championship this season.
"I will need a hot putter like this event," he said.

Thanks to the tremendous support of everyone involved, this year's event raised a record $185,000 for Vanessa Behan. Since its inception, the Rosauers Open and Franz Pro-Am have generated approximately $4.155 million in support of the organization.
