Jeff Ellison, PGA devoted his career to strengthening the Pacific Northwest Section through thoughtful leadership, member-centered service, and a deep belief in collaboration. Over decades of service—first as Tournament Director and later as Chief Executive Officer—Ellison helped guide the Section through periods of growth and challenge. His tenure included navigating some of the most difficult moments in Section history, including September 11, 2001, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He also led key organizational and governance transitions, aligning operations, finances, and staffing with the Section’s legal structure.

Inspired by Rick Acton, Ellison’s leadership philosophy was rooted in presence and accessibility. He played a key role in modernizing tournament operations, developing in-house systems that improved efficiency, accuracy, and presentation long before digital scoring became standard. As CEO, he applied the same problem-solving mindset to governance, financial transparency, education, and professional development. Among his most lasting contributions was helping redesign the Associate Mentoring Program, refocusing it on meaningful growth.

Ellison further enhanced Section operations by modernizing the Special Awards process and expanding growth-of-the-game initiatives, including Yamaha Player Development Grants and the Section’s role as a pilot program for Drive, Chip & Putt. His legacy is defined by trust, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to serving PGA Professionals and the game of golf.
