=The Reserve Vineyards Duo Wins Pacific Golf & Turf PNW PGA Pro-Am Championship=

PGA Professional Brad Myers and amateur Collin Hodgkinson of The Reserve Vineyards won the PNW PGA Pacific Golf & Turf Pro-Amateur Championship on October 1st at Palouse Ridge Golf Club. The duo fired combined rounds of 61-61—122, defeating PGA Professional Jeff Gustafson and amateur Matt Newcombe of Club Green Meadows in a playoff. Hodgkinson clinched the victory with an eagle on the first playoff hole.

“It’s my first section win, and I’m thrilled that I got to share the win and memories with Collin,” Myers said. “Collin was nails when it mattered most, especially on holes 16 and 18 and the playoff hole.”

Myers credited his partner’s familiarity with Palouse Ridge for helping the team maximize its scoring opportunities, particularly as Myers played the course for the first time. The two found success by complementing each other’s games and maintaining momentum throughout the competition.

“Whenever we seemed to lose a little momentum, one of us always seemed to hit a shot or make a putt that gave us that boost,” Myers said.

=Austin Hurt Captures Second Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship Title=

Austin Hurt, PGA Professional at Wing Point Golf & Country Club, claimed victory at the 2025 Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship on September 18 at Canyon River Golf Club in Missoula, Montana—marking his second win at this prestigious event, following his first in 2023.

“This feels incredible,” said Hurt after his win. “One of my main goals at the start of the year was to qualify for our National Championship, so to achieve that through this event is special. I’m very thankful to the Pacific Northwest Section and Wing Point Golf & Country Club for the opportunity.”

In addition to Hurt, Kyle Kelly (The Creek at Qualchan), Bryce Fisher (Arrowhead GC), Brad Elzie (Meadow Springs CC), Derek Berg (PNW Golf Academy), Russell Grove (Eastern Washington University), Sabrina Bonanno (Sahalee CC) and Jason Aichele (Meadow Springs CC) all secured qualifying spots for the 58th PGA Professional Championship, presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial and Rolex, to be held April 26–29, 2026, at the renowned Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes in the Pacific Northwest.

Representing the Section at the national level is something Hurt takes seriously. “It’s always both a privilege and an honor,” he said. “Any time I get to showcase the talent of PNW golfers on a national stage, it’s a responsibility I take great pride in.”

Hurt credited the venue for playing to his strengths. Canyon River Golf Club, designed by the internationally acclaimed firm Schmidt Curley and opened in 2006, meanders through towering pines and native grasslands. “Canyon River was in incredible shape,” he said. “The greens were perfect, and that really complemented my ball-striking all week. It was a great venue to host the championship.”

Looking ahead to the national championship, Hurt emphasized preparation. “I’ll be doing everything I can to be at my best come April. Meaning a focused practice, staying sharp in competition and fitness, and making sure I’m mentally and physically ready for the challenge,” he explained.

Hurt also reflected on the differences between his two Section victories. “My 2023 win was a big moment for me. I had to show a lot of resilience in that final round to come out on top, narrowly avoiding a playoff. It was my first section major victory, and it felt great to finally get that pressure off my chest. The 2025 win felt different. I played more than above average over the first two days, which created an opposite type of pressure... holding onto a lead rather than chasing from behind. Staying positive and using past experiences helped me calm my thoughts and nerves when it mattered most. All week long, one subtle reminder kept ringing in my ears: ‘Don’t be afraid to be great!’”

Additionally, the low 20 scores at the 2026 PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial and Rolex will earn a place in the 108th PGA Championship in May 2026, to be held at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

For Erdmann, the opportunity to return to the national championship is particularly meaningful. He has previously advanced to the PGA Professional Championship six times: 2011 at Hershey Country Club, 2012 at Bayonet & Black Horse, 2013 at Crosswater, 2017 at Crosswater, 2019 at Belfair, and 2024 at Frisco.

His first appearance in 2011 was also his best finish, as he lost in a playoff to David Hutsell for the championship. That finish qualified Erdmann for the 2011 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club and earned him a spot on the 2011 PGA Cup Team.

“That’s the whole reason for playing the event—to have the opportunity to make it to Nationals,” said Erdmann. “So to win it and earn that spot, especially at my age, couldn’t make me happier.”

“Being competitive going into your 50s means making some sacrifices you maybe haven’t always made throughout your life—namely getting into the gym consistently and eating well,” said Erdmann. “I think that’s been a big part of what has allowed me to play well this past year, so it’ll be more of the same going forward, and maybe with even a little more discipline as Nationals gets closer.”

“Representing the PNWPGA is a great honor because I believe it’s one of the strongest playing sections in the country,” he added. “I’m very proud to have another opportunity to represent our Section at Nationals.”

The victory also comes at the end of an especially difficult year for Erdmann and his family. His wife, Ionela, experienced serious health issues beginning in July 2025 and was later diagnosed with occipital neuralgia. She was also diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2026. Erdmann said that as she has continued to heal and some normalcy has returned to their lives, it has given him a renewed perspective.

“Golf is obviously important to me and I’m incredibly proud of this win, but watching her get healthier has been a pretty powerful reminder of what really matters,” said Erdmann.
